Traditional Music & Dance
Powwow Dancing
Set in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Banff's cultural roots blend Indigenous traditions, frontier heritage, and mountain folklore. Western folk music - featuring fiddles, acoustic guitars, and harmonicas, has long been part of the social fabric, echoing the spirit of early homesteaders and ranchers. In nearby communities, you’ll find lively barn dances, bluegrass gatherings, and festivals celebrating Métis jigging and storytelling.

Cultural Roots
There is a deep cultural history of the Stoney Nakoda, Blackfoot, and Tsuut’ina Nations, whose connection to the land predates the park itself. Local events often include performances by Indigenous drummers and dancers.

Reach New Heights on the Via Ferrata
After breakfast at the hotel, we’re off to our race location! Lace up for an unforgettable trail run nestled deep in Alberta’s breathtaking Spring Valley. Surrounded by towering peaks, alpine meadows, and crystal-clear waters, this route delivers the kind of scenery that stops you in your tracks. Expect a mix of forested trails, open vistas, and maybe even a few mountain goats cheering you on. This is what running in Canada is all about.
If heights scare you, this will push your comfort zone. We’re walking the Banff Via Ferrata. What’s that? Via Ferrata is an Italian term meaning iron road. This Via Ferrata is an assisted climbing experience with ladders and suspension bridges, all while you’re surrounded by incredible mountain vistas!
Tonight we'll gather for a group dinner in downtown Banff.
