HIGHLIGHTS

"I’m not a runner but now have runner friends!!!  The crew was so engaged and enthusiastic about sharing the history and culture with us. I loved that I could ask questions about trees and wine and history!  The trail running was challenging and magical all at the same time. The feeling of accomplishment I experienced each day was profound. The excursions in the afternoons were unlike anything you could book on your own. So curated and personal. There was time sailing from one island to another that we spent getting to know each other over wine, or napping or swimming at anchor in the Adriatic. Life changing trip."

Traditional Music & Dance

Croatian folklore reflects the country’s coastal charm and deep Slavic roots, where every region preserves its own distinct music, costume, and dance. The harmonies of klapa—a cappella singing from Dalmatia—fill seaside towns with soulful melodies, while tamburica orchestras bring energy to inland celebrations.

Colorful folk dances, like the lively kolo, symbolize community and togetherness, often performed in traditional embroidered dress. Festivals from Dubrovnik to Split keep these traditions alive, where locals gather in stone squares to share song, dance, and the spirit of the Adriatic.

Cultural Roots

Croatia’s cultural tapestry reflects its crossroads between Central Europe, the Balkans, and the Mediterranean. Influenced by Illyrian, Roman, Venetian, and Austro-Hungarian legacies, the country’s heritage blends coastal refinement with inland tradition.

On the Adriatic, seafaring, architecture, and cuisine carry centuries of Mediterranean flair, while the interior preserves the customs of rural village life—folk music, harvest festivals, and intricate embroidery. Together, they reveal a people deeply connected to both land and sea, whose history and hospitality are woven through every stone street and sunlit harbor.
