WHAT TO
EXPECT
Iceland’s Golden Circle captures the island’s raw, elemental beauty - where glaciers, geysers, and waterfalls meet under vast Arctic skies. Just beyond Reykjavík, this region showcases the country’s volcanic heart, from the shifting tectonic rifts of Þingvellir to the erupting hot springs of Geysir and the thundering cascades of Gullfoss. Exploring Iceland with us means tracing the earth’s ancient forces in motion, soaking in natural hot springs, and embracing the stark, unforgettable landscapes that define this land of fire and ice.

Traditional Music & Dance
Iceland’s musical roots run deep, shaped by Norse sagas, isolation, and oral tradition. Ancient rímur (epic chants) and the melodic langspil evoke the island’s storytelling soul. Though formal folk dancing is rare, music remains central to community life — from quiet village gatherings to modern festivals that blend old traditions with new sounds.

Cultural Roots
Iceland’s cultural identity is deeply tied to its Viking ancestry. Settled in the 9th century by Norse explorers, the island’s sagas, place names, and traditions still reflect that legacy. You’ll find echoes of this heritage in turf-roofed farmhouses, rune-like carvings, and annual festivals that celebrate Viking crafts, combat, and storytelling — keeping the spirit of the settlers alive.

Welcome dinner & orientation
Presentation and dinner from approx 5.30pm
Welcome To Reykjavik
You’ll arrive in Reykjavik by Saturday afternoon and either take a taxi or shuttle via Flybus.com to the hotel in Reykjavik for the first night.
We’ll check you in that evening and get everyone oriented for what to expect throughout the week. This is also your first chance to meet your fellow adventurers! Dinner and drinks are included the first night as we kick off a grand week.

DAY 2
Volcano fields, Puffin Tour by boat, explore Reykjavik
Burfell Volcano
Reykjavik, Iceland
Burfell Volcano
We’ll wake up, enjoy breakfast and then head straight to our first run of the week, which will give you a taste of what Iceland offers. Our run today takes you through a massive lava flow from the Burfell Volcano, culminating with a run around the rim of this (now dormant!) volcano.
After our run and lunch, get ready for an exciting adventure. The group will have the opportunity to watch puffins in their natural habitat. Sharpen your eyes and ears as these miniature versions of penguins with colorful beaks, make a sound that doesn’t resemble any other animal.
Afterward, we’ll have the rest of the afternoon to explore Reykjavik—visit the iconic Hallgrimskirkja cathedral, stroll through the vibrant shops on Laugavegur, and soak in the lively atmosphere of this charming European capital.

Golden Circle
You've seen hot springs before, but have you ever soaked in an entire hot river?
Our second full day in Iceland explodes with excitement — literally! After breakfast, we start our run which is a shorter trot up to the hot river in the Reykjadalur Valley.
After our soak, we’ll head back to the bus to continue our tour of the Golden Circle which includes Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir (the original geyser), and Þingvellir National Park, where you'll hike to the meeting place of the North American and Eurasian continents!

Þórsmörk Volcano Huts
Today's course is more of a hike as we head out to see what may be the most spectacular view of the week!
Take your time and use your senses to memorize the feeling of the mountains, glaciers, and braided rivers unfolding before you.
After our hike, we'll spend the afternoon enjoying the lodge to ourselves — relaxing in the sauna, playing Icelandic lawn games, or even sneaking a nap.

Skogafoss & Reynisfjara Beach
After a breakfast in the lodge, we’ll do one last run in Þórsmörk where you will be able to see more views of this incredible valley. We’ll then board the 4x4 buses and head back through the rivers, across the dirt roads, and take you back to the south coast, where we’ll continue on to the beautiful little coastal town of Vik. On our way into town we’ll stop and visit the thundering Skogafoss Waterfall, where you can get as close and as wet as you like!
We will then take you to see one of the most unique beaches you have ever seen- Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. Here the sand is made up of ground up lava and the cliffs are perfect octagonal columns of basalt. There are black sea stacks out in the ocean and a perfect cave where you can look out at the water.

Vik Sea Cliff
We’re getting closer to the end of the week and we’ve saved the best sea views for last. Today, we’ll run from the town of Vik, to the towering sea cliffs above the ocean, where we will finish our run and spend some time enjoying the views. You may want to spend all day there, but eventually we’ll need to get back down because we have more adventuring to do!
After lunch, we'll take you to the Sólheimajökull Glacier where we have guides ready to strap on some crampons, give you an ice axe, and take you hiking on this amazing glacier. Our guides are super knowledgeable and safety-conscious and will teach you all about glaciers as you explore.
Tonight you're free to explore and grab dinner on your own.

DAY 7
Volcano fields, lagoon geothermal spa
Hvaleyrarvatn Lake
Reykjavik, Iceland
Sky Lagoon Geothermal Spa
Our last day and final run of the trip! We'll have lunch boxes on the go as we drive to our final run along Hvaleyrarvatn Lake.
After finishing our last run, we’ll take you to an oceanside geothermal spa where you’ll have a few hours to relax and enjoy the Sky Lagoon in all its glory. Give yourself a complimentary silica facial. Whatever you do, just soak in this last incredible experience at the end of your week in Iceland.
When we're fully relaxed, we'll head back to our hotel and celebrate with a farewell dinner and presentation!
